Always remembered

I was awakened by my annoying alarm clock, it was 8.30 am.
I open my eyes, I saw the sunlight from the window, it must be a blue sky Thursday ; and, I thought it will be a great day today. I switch on my phone, I check through the news after shower as usual. And “Karpal Singh dies in road accident, son injured” was the headline of Malaysia Insider this morning.

What a sad news to start a day?

I don’t know how to express the feeling on losing Mr. Karpal. I never expect that he will leave in my 26th birthday.

Yea, I am just about to say happy birthday to myself before I read the news in Malaysia Insider.
My Facebook personal page is full with wishes, and on the other hand, the timeline is full with “condolences messages” to Karpal.
I am sad, because I still haven’t got a chance to interview this big man, and I know this will never happen for now and forever.

I am sad, because I am yet to say thank you to him for his contribution to the people and country; for his kindness to fight for Chinese’s rights especially in the “Operasi Lalang” in 1987. He was arrested under ISA for the Chinese during that time.
I still remember that I met him in Parliament before, when I was still a reporter from government news agency, it was last year. He was a kind man, always with a smile on his face. White hair, white beard, sometimes I’ll joke with my friends and said he look like Santa.

“Death never comes at the right time, despite what mortals believe. Death always comes like a thief.” -Christopher Pike.

Mr. Karpal, though it is hard to say good bye and accept that from now on, everything about you, will be written in past tense and no more present or future tense; but I believe that God loves you, and that’s the reason He send an angel and take you away.
You are gone now but you will always be remembered. Rest in peace
